After a dreary winter, spring and summer are always welcome. We set the clocks ahead one hour, so – after we lose that hour’s sleep – we enjoy more time in the evening after work for outside activities. Walking, bicycle riding, or just some chores that seem easier to do when the sun is up than in the dark.
Happy New Year and congratulations on surviving the holidays! This is the time we start things anew and resolve to make this year a better one than last.
New Year’s resolutions are one of the techniques we use to better our lives. Sadly, they are easier to make than keep, and usually fall by the wayside pretty quickly. For several years I have worked out regularly at a gym. It’s the same every year – January brings a host of new people. They throng into the exercise classrooms, use the equipment, walk or run the track, all gung-ho. By the middle of February, most of them are gone and things settle back to the former status quo.
Thanksgiving is in the rearview mirror and we are speeding toward Christmas. First item on the holiday agenda is to “festive up” your house. Nothing will get you into the Christmas spirit like transforming your home into that winter wonderland. To begin, de-clutter the living room and all areas where you are going to decorate – so there’s room for the tree and all your other holiday accessories.
The easy way to do this is to come to Quail Creek Self Storage and rent a unit. They come as small as 5 x 5 and as large as 10 x 40, so you can find one which fits your needs. Once you have rented a storage unit, you have 24/7 access, so you can get to it at your convenience
"We gather together" is the beginning of one of my favorite hymns. It's about Thanksgiving, which is fast approaching. It's a time for family and friends to enjoy one another's company (hopefully!) and feast on delicious food. It has been described as the easiest holiday, because you don't have to worry about shopping for gifts. Eating is the main focus.
Lots of people have in their home or apartment what I call the “forbidden room.” It’s that extra bedroom, not in use as a guest room, where you store all the treasures you don’t have space to put elsewhere in your home. Too good to throw away, but no place for it at this time.
It could be extra clothes, lamps or other accessories, dishes, Christmas decorations, maybe that treadmill that you were going to use faithfully, extra furniture, fishing or other sports equipment.
